A new novena to St. Joseph narrated by Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly begins this Father’s Day, June 16, on the Catholic mobile app Hallow.

For nine days, the supreme knight will lead Hallow users in a daily prayer to the patron of fathers and guardian of the universal Church. The novena will continue to be available on Hallow after June 24 to encourage devotion to St. Joseph throughout the year.

Supreme Knight Kelly dedicated his leadership of the Knights to St. Joseph at his installation in 2021.

“I turn to him every day because his life embodied prayer, obedience and courage,” he said. “St. Joseph was a man of faith who listened carefully to the Lord, and never backed away from difficulty. He was the silent, humble witness of the Bible. That’s why the Knights are excited to partner with Hallow to develop this novena so even more people can build a prayerful devotion to St. Joseph.”

Hallow aims to help users deepen their relationship with God through audio-guided prayers, Scripture readings, meditations and music. It also offers formation resources such as Father Mike Schmitz’s Bible in a Year series, Bishop Robert Barron’s Sunday sermons, and an audio Bible narrated by Jonathan Roumie of The Chosen. Since it launched in 2018, the app has been downloaded 19 million times.

Alessandro DiSanto, 31, one of Hallow’s co-founders, has been a Knight of Columbus since his freshman year at the University of Notre Dame.

“The Knights of Columbus has been supporting families and nourishing the faith lives of millions for more than a century,” said DiSanto. “As a husband, father and fellow Knight myself, collaborating with the Knights of Columbus on this novena to St. Joseph, the patron saint of families, is a tremendous privilege.”
